I have a new OBSESSION!!!

I've been seeing for a while this journal/planner stuff, and I was indecisive if I want it to jump on the wagon or not 'cause I already had a planner...but it was stronger than me and I caved.

The book that I'm using (as well as everyone else) is the MiquelRius Journal from Barnes and Noble and it was almost $10. The paper its great quality, I haven't seen a Hobonichi planner on the flesh, but I guess the paper quality must be pretty similar to the Barnes and Noble one. I love the feel of the paper and that it doesn't bleed with every pen or ink (some bleeding may occur, but it's minimal).

This' my November monthly lo, I wasn't sure at first that I needed a monthly page (again I already have a planner) but I saw how one of the girls on the Facebook group "Fauxbonichi Group" was doing drawings and images on her days and I liked it.

I'm trying to do a quote per day, some days that's the only thing I'll have (like day 16, below) and some days I don't have space at all...but that's ok with me 'cause on this one everything goes.

So far it's been really interesting and I'm up to date on it...
Let's see how it goes. Thanks for watching and reading!!

Project Life 2014: Week 46

This week we didn't did much, there's only a few pictures of my new purse, my new 2015 planner that I got at Target (from SugarPaperLA) so excited about that!! and other random pics.

December Daily 2014: Materials

Today I'm going to show you some of my December Daily 2014 materials...I haven't bought a lot this year, I accumulated so much last year that I decided to use everything I have on hand first...of 'course that those not mean that if I see something that I like I'm not going to buy it, ha!!! But I'm staying on route pretty well.

The first item that I'm going to show you guys is a 6x6 paper pad that I did buy this year at Tuesday Morning (it was only 2.99), and is the Home for Christmas Pebbles collection. I couldn't resist buying it 'cause I love the colors and patterns.

This other stuff I had it from last year; the Spritz silver string of pipe cleaner (sort of) is from Target, the die cuts at the right are Martha Stewart I found them at Marshall's, the reindeer and poinsettia are ornaments from Dollar Tree, the gold and silver stars are from Michael's and they are also ornaments, this pack of die cuts is from Recollections and the glittery snowflakes I bought them at Archiver's (don't remember the brand).

I stored my supplies in this container that I bought at Michael's for less than $2.00 last year...

The other paper pads I'm using I have them for a while...

This number tags I did myself in Photoshop and I'm thinking of selling them on Etsy (if you're interested, let me know). They coordinate with the papers I have, but the download file will include the Photoshop file so you can customize them.

This is my collection of Christmas stickers, some are old collections but I don't mind. For me is not that important to use the latest collection or what is trending in the scrapbooking community, if its my style and cute, i'll use it!

Of 'course washi tape have to be one of the supplies!!
this are a few of my washi tape collection, the Christmas and others christmasy ones.

And last but not least the album...the color is not accurate (I had to use an internet image), mine is the blue one (like aqua sort of).

On my next post I'll be sharing with you guys my cover page and some other ideas I have for this year, as well as other materials I didn't talk about in this post...
Thanks for watching and reading!!!

Project Life 2014: Week 44

Week 44 is here!!!

This week I had a lot of pictures, we were busy, busy this week...we went to the State Fair, it was my 37th birthday and then Halloween. Luckily for me this month I had some extra space to add everything.

On the first side I did the State Fair (that was what we did first). For the title card I used the Project Life Cut & Paste Mini Kit from Amy Tangerine, thickers for the week number, the label is Martha Stewart for Avery, the stickers are from Sticko and the Heidi Swapp date stamp. On the photos I used Simple Stories new DIY Collection Clear Photo Stickers, and also the Sticko stickers.

On the other side I did my birthday celebrations...and Halloween!!

I used Doodlebug Halloween filler cards, washi tape, the circle Halloween stickers are from Wal-Mart, the bat border I got it at AC Moore (don't remember the brand), and some Theresa Collins tiny alphas.

Project Life 2014: Week 43

I'm getting a little behind on my posts, I KNOW!!!

This month is a really busy one...we have four birthdays in the family, the State Fair, and Halloween, a lot of preparations, cakes, candles and walks...ha!

On week 43 I used the Project Life Happy Kit, I'm liking this of using just one kit per page. It keeps everything simple and coordinated, specially simple.

This week I also used some wood grain thickers (on the title card), the Heidi Swapp date stamp and the strip with the sentiment I bought at Tuesday Morning it came in a pack of four sheet of stickers.

This week I didn't have much photos, usually I don't have space for filler cards...

Shaker Cards Tutorial: Part 2

This post is a continuation of yesterdays' and like I mentioned I'll be showing you my technique for doing "shaker cards", this time NO sewing required.

For this pocket you'll need the materials from the previous post (minus the sewing machine) and some washi tape (I picked a Christmas theme but you can use whatever you like)...let's get started.

Take one of the remaining pockets from the previous post (you should have 2 left) and fill it with whatever you like, I chose some wood veneers, a chipboard snowman, snowflakes confetti, and sequins.

After filling the pocket with your choice of goodies, cut a piece of washi, enough to cover the length of the opening of the pocket or a bit larger, leaving a 1/8" of the width of the tape. Then adhere some more tape to other side of the previous washi to close the opening of the pocket. Trim any excess washi from the sides...

And you are done...

This' the final result...

Shaker Cards Tutorial: Part 1

Today I'm going to try and show you guys how to make your own "shaker cards" (at least, what works for me).

You'll need:

Scissors, a baseball card page protector (or whatever size page protector you want to use),

sequins, chipboard die cuts (or whatever you want to put inside the card),

and a sewing machine. Last photo are example of ephemera you can use for inside the card...

First you'd need to cut the page protector starting with the middle pockets, cutting a strip with three pockets (you need to cut outside the seams) this way you'll end up with a strip of pockets with just one opening on top of each one...like this.

Then, separate each pocket by cutting between the middle seams, you'll end up with three separate pockets...

This should be your end result...

The next step is to fill the pocket with the items of your choice...

The last step to complete this "shaker card" is to sew the opening of the pocket...

In my sewing machine I use option number five to make a zig-zag pattern (you can use whatever pattern you want, of course).

And that's it, you should end with this result or better!! ha. I'm not an expert sewing but this is proof that you don't have to be an expert...

On my next post I'll show you how to do another style, NO SEWING required...

Project Life 2014: Week 42

Week 42...

For this week I use (again) the BH Project Life Value kit Super Cute (that I bought at Joann's with a 50% coupon), I thought it was appropriate for my daughter's birthday (and did I mention before that I'm in love with this kit?). I also used the Theresa Collins tiny alphas, the thickers are called Hurray, the die-cuts are from a pack of embellishments that I bought at Joann's, they're David Tutera brand and they are cute!!! the labels are printables that I download from the internet (you can find them on my Pinterest board: http://www.pinterest.com/yocari/freebiesprintables/).

This week I wanted to include this picture of my daughter with her new dress (down) so I made kind of an ad-on pocket but this time I didn't use a pocket at all... I used one of those BasicGrey Attach Me Stickers that I got from Amazon. It work better than expected, I thought it was going to open up every time but it laid pretty flat, awesome!

December Daily 2013: Part 6

And like I promise in my previous post this' the last of the DD 2013 series. Here you'll see the last pages of my album and our trip to NJ & NYC.

The activity for day 24 was to put cookies and milk for Santa under the tree, but we being from Puerto Rico...we celebrate Christmas eve with food, music, family and friends, so we didn't have time for the cookies and all that! And we also open the presents that same night so that was enough activity for the night...

On Christmas Day we went to visit some family members and spend the day with them...

On day 26 we had to catch our flight to New Jersey early in the morning...

We landed in NJ at 11:00 am so we didn't waste any time and we head out to NYC...

This' the kids and my first time in NYC...

And that's it, I hope you enjoy watching my album and at least inspired you in any way possible...thanks for watching!!!
